The Eastern tiger swallowtail butterfly is common throughout North America. Eastern tiger swallowtail adults use nectar from a variety of plants, preferring to lay eggs near food sources like magnolia trees. Beetles feed on magnolia floral parts that have been dusted with pollen, pollinating the next tree it visits.
